Search dictionary sites
If, like me, you are a regular user of the web's numerous dictionary sites, you will probably enjoy OneLookŪ Dictionaries. Type your word into the searchbox and the site will bring back results from relevant web dictionaries. It claims to have access to 775 dictionaries including 4 million words. It even finds odd items like Evan Morris's Word Detective columns. Useful, fun and free, and of particular interest to readers of Frantic Semantics.
